Projects to Restore/Create Early Successional Habitat in East Tennessee

The goal of this early successional habitat project is to restore early successional habitat on public lands maintained by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency within administrative Region 4. Ongoing work includes the restoration of early successional habitats on multiple Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) and inventory of the habitat in subsequent years to determine GCN species’ use. This type of work has shown noticeable gains for Northern Bobwhite quail and other species at Kyker Bottoms Refuge in Blount County.
